We’ve known Marty for quite some time now. Derrek and Marty went to high school together and remain to be close friends. When he asked us to photograph his destination elopement, we were honored! He had one stipulation; he wanted us to also attend the wedding. It seemed like a pretty daunting task, but we found that it was such an awesome experience to photograph a friend’s wedding while still feeling like a guest. We even got to bring our little guy, Liam along! He brought along his own camera to take a few shots for Marty and Cat.

Marty and Cat have a love for the mountains, so they opted for a destination elopement in Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville is easily one of our favorite cities in the states. We love the Southern hospitality that the Carolinas offer! Not to mention, Asheville’s food scene is pretty amazing! Marty and Cat knew they wanted to be surrounded with a beautiful view with their friends and family for their wedding ceremony. Luckily, they stumbled upon Pretty Place in Greenville, South Carolina. Pretty Place is owned and operated by YMCA. This venue overlooks the blue ridge mountains with a breathtaking view. Pretty Place’s chapel was constructed in 1941 and still stands today. #ashevilleelopement
