Cindy and Stephen were married at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church followed by their reception at The Ancient Spanish Monastery in Miami, Florida. We always love when we get the opportunity to photograph weddings in South Florida. A little back story on their venue, William Randolph Hearst purchased the Cloisters and the Monastery’s outbuildings in 1925. The structures were dismantled very carefully, stone by stone. From there, they were bound with protective hay, packed in more than 11,000 wooden crates, numbered for identification, and shipped to the United States for reconstruction. The construction of the original monastery begun in the year 1133 AD in Sacramenia, in northern Spain. We immediately fell in love with this venue solely based on its beauty, but we love that there’s so much history at the Ancient Spanish Monastery as well.
