We recently had the pleasure of exploring Camp Milton Historic Preserve with Catherine + Michael for their engagement session. The Camp Milton Historic Preserve, located in west Jacksonville, was posted by around 8,000 troops during the Civil War from 1861 thru 1865. This appeared to provide the first line of defense from Union forces in Jacksonville. The Camp received it’s name from John Milton who happened to be Florida’s Governor for most of the Civil War. Camp Milton was also said to be the Confederacy’s largest and strongest fortification in Florida. You can still make out the small cleared plots within the trees that were once camps. There are also concrete cones in various locations that mark when Archeologists found campfires. We had so much fun exploring the site with Catherine and Michael. They’re one of those couples who’s love for one another just seems to emanate from each of them. Content and natural, we barely had to give any direction to these two as it was clear just being together was enough. This session was photographed on Kodak Portra 400 medium format film and digital. #campmiltonengagement
In addition to their engagement session, we also photographed their modern, beach wedding at Casa Marina in Jacksonville Beach. Check it out!
