Carlyle + Samir opted for a destination wedding in Miami, close to where Carlyle grew up. These two Washington DC natives were married at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Coconut Grove, Florida. Villa Vizcaya was once an estate owned by James Deering. Construction on Villa Vizcaya began in 1910, with architecture and gardens in a Mediterranean style. Villa Vizcaya was Deering’s passion project with artist, Paul Chalfin. Now it is owned by Miami-Dade County and open to the public for tours and events. In 2008, the National Trust for Historic Preservation listed Vizcaya as one of America’s Eleven Most Endangered Historic Places. From the aged Cuban limestone to the Italian Renaissance inspiration, Vizcaya weddings are always our favorite! We’re so excited to see this tropical wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes. #vizcayamiamiwedding
